New Moon in Virgo Ritual

Screen Shot 2018-03-01 at 4.05.22 PMHappy full moon in Virgo, everybody!

Virgo’s energy is all about analyzing, reflecting, organizing, and striving. You might feel a bit more clear-headed today than on most full moons, as Virgo shows you exactly where you need to be and what you need to do to get there. Or maybe you’re overwhelmed that it’s not happening fast enough, or exactly on your terms, and you’re beating yourself up over it.

Either way, a full moon is a great time to pause and take inventory of old habits that no longer serve you, and old stories you need to release. Keep striving towards your goals, but perhaps it’s time to tone down that perfectionism a tad and accept the beauty and perfection in the moment you’re in RIGHT NOW.

Tonight, make peace with those self-defeating thoughts that are telling you you’re not good enough, or you’re not moving fast enough (we’ve all got them!) Write a love letter to yourself. Pull some cards if that’s your thing. Pour a glass of wine. Slip into a warm bath filled with gentle, nurturing scents. (For me it will be Lavender, Frankincense, and just a a touch of Lemon–one of my favorite, dreamiest combinations.)

Get your ears under the water. Sing yourself a song. Rest up. Then get up and slay tomorrow.

I wear a lot of hats. I’m a writer, designer, and motion graphics artist. A Taurus sun/Scorpio moon/Leo rising. An ENFP, HSP, and all-around bleeding heart. A folk medicine anthropologist and purveyor of tiny bottles of plant magic. I co-own Baskervillain Studios with my husband, John, and we live in a funky little enclave five-ish miles outside Atlanta with our kitty, Magical Mr. Murphy O. Milam. I started my blog because I’m fascinated by herbal medicine, natural remedies, essential oils, and DIY beauty. And because when the zombie apocalypse hits, damn it, I’m gonna need a trade. I’ll pull my weight, I promise. I write about my ongoing journey using herbs, Young Living essential oils, and traditional foods as a way to take ownership of my own health and wellness. I post recipes, herbal and folk remedies, and DIY skin and beauty care made from natural ingredients. And a little kitchen witchery sneaks in now and again.
