Spring Cleaning Ritual

I don’t know about you, but I’m still buzzing off that full moon in Libra, and it’s got me in a de-cluttering kind of mood. I want to make space in my life for the big things I’m manifesting, and it helps to do so physically as well as mentally. The weather is absolutely gorgeous here in Atlanta and everything is starting to bloom, so I threw open all of my windows (and am slathering myself in lavender, lemon, and peppermint bc #POLLEN) to get some of that beautiful Spring energy in here.

This Spring Cleaning is going to begin in my kitchen. It’s my sacred space, and I’m never happier than when I’m creating in it or feeding people from it. And I picked up this sweet little ritual a few years ago from a friend that I use now to show it some love.

After a good deep cleaning, when everything is bright and sparkly, take a soft, clean cloth and the essential oils of your choice. I love Lemon or Citrus Fresh for this, or a woodsy oil like Idaho Blue Spruce or Northern Lights Black Spruce. Add a few drops to your rag and start polishing your freshly-cleaned space. As you anoint them, whisper blessings or prayers. As I polish my table, I’ll express gratitude for the future gathering of friends that will happen around it. As I polish my counters, I’ll say thank you for the future meals I’ll prepare with my husband. As I polish my stove, I’ll say thank you for the love of feeding others that was passed down to me by my mother.

You’d be amazed at the sense of peace and love you can create with the right words and oils. And as a bonus, since I swapped out my old cleaners for the Thieves Household Cleaner, I’m basically anointing my kitchen with oils twice.
