Full Moon in Pisces Ritual

So technically the full moon was last night, but as we’re still feeling its energy — oh wait, am I the only one ugly crying while flipping through some random person’s family pics on IG? — I’m thinking this is still a valid topic.

Plus it gives me an excuse to share the most AMAZING experience I had last night.

I live in Atlanta, and for a while now I’ve wanted to participate in a lovely local yoga studio’s regular full moon circles. This is totally the kind of thing I geek out on, but typically only in a solitary/online way–so while I was slightly intimidated, I was completely feeling called to join. And I’m SO glad I did.

I don’t like to show up anywhere empty handed. They’d put the call out for people to bring food and libations, so I picked up some veggie goodies and wine on the way, but I really wanted to bring something a little more personal. So I blended up an anointing oil to share. I started with oils either ruled by Pisces, or just overall comforting to the general energy — lavender, ylang ylang, patchouli, bergamot, frankincense, cedarwood, and elemi. Then I added in some skin loving carrier oils — grapeseed oil, red raspberry seed oil and a bit of Vitamin E. I added a pinch of amethyst crystal chips for their nurturing energy, then added pretty dried lavender, rose, and jasmine buds.

When we all sat down in circle (about 15 of us all told), we each introduced ourselves, gave an indication of our interests and spiritual practices, and then one by one we went around and anointed the person to our left, placing the oil on the third eye, the inside of the forearms, and the tops of the feet, followed by a hug. It was one of the most beautiful exchanges I’ve been a part of, and I only came into the space knowing one other soul there.

The night continued with lots of incense and candles, guided meditations, holding hands and chanting, drinking wine, releasing what no longer served us, ecstatically dancing to some amazing music, laughing hysterically, and then going outside and literally howling at the moon. (A mere block away from a very popular strip of restaurants and bars in Atlanta, btw.) 🐺😂

I’m so beyond thankful I had the opportunity to bond with and love on an amazing group of bad ass wild women, and would love to do the same with each of you. What did you do to commemorate the full moon this weekend, and what did you release into the void that no longer serves you? (If you haven’t yet, it’s not too late!!)

I’ll start. Last night I made the decision to release all self sabotaging and self defeating thoughts in the coming month. How about you?
